The largest software employer in Lower Bavaria celebrates its anniversary and looks back on a 25-year success story.
Passau, October 20, 2023 – The msg location in Passau celebrates a remarkable anniversary – 25 years of continuous growth. Since opening in October 1998 with six employees, the location has grown steadily and today counts more than 600 professionals. This makes msg in Passau not only the second largest private-sector employer, but also the largest software employer in all of Lower Bavaria. This development enables the company to offer its employees the security and advantages of a "large medium-sized company" without neglecting the family spirit and the “Spirit of Passau” atmosphere, as location manager Dr. Armin Bender underlined during the anniversary celebration.

Location manager Dr. Armin Bender emphasized the strong connection with the city of Passau: “The 25-year celebration of msg's Passau location marks not only a quarter of a century of successful business activity but also the deep roots of the company in the region". The invited guests included the location's employees, msg CEO Dr. Jürgen Zehetmaier and executive board member Andrea van Aubel. Dr. Armin Bender welcomed the three company founders Hans Zehetmaier, Herbert Enzbrenner and Pius Pflüger as special guests of honor. A glimpse into the future: Training and innovation crucial for success
The Passau location is planning further growth in the coming years. According to Dr. Bender, the topic of training plays a decisive role in this. In September of this year, 13 trainees started their careers at msg. In addition to working closely with various vocational schools, the company maintains a close partnership with the University of Passau and the Technical University of Deggendorf (THD), where msg operates its own software lab. "Our investment in training young talent is an important step in ensuring that we can continue to offer our customers the best solutions in the future. We are confident that these partnerships and our long-standing presence in Passau will enable us to continue our success story," said Dr. Bender.
